The Vice President of Credit Risk Management will be a pivotal member of the leadership team. This leader will provide strategic oversight and vision of the credit risk function, ensuring the safety, soundness and profitability of the credit portfolio, through the leadership of the credit risk, underwriting, data and business intelligence teams for Proceed Finance. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in financial services, with a solid foundation in consumer credit, complemented by exceptional analytical acumen, regulatory knowledge, and strategic leadership skills.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead the team responsible for all aspects of strategy and model development including data analysis, segmentation, predictive analytics, requirement generation, validation and ongoing reporting and monitoring
Manage a team of managers and analysts to effectively prioritize tasks and strategic projects
Responsible for portfolio performance and recommending changes to credit models and strategies based on analysis and experience
Through partnership with internal teams such as Loss Mitigation, Finance, and Operations, combined with external partners, lead the design of solutions to mitigate portfolio risk and losses while driving revenue and loyalty to Proceed Finance
Defines and implements key performance indicators and strategic objectives for the division and, as appropriate, the entire organization; facilitates measurement of those objectives, reporting results to the executive team
Develop and implement comprehensive credit risk management strategies to mitigate credit, financial, and operational
Drafts and implements policies and best practices to support achievement of objectives and required standards
Collaborate with other leaders to identify and pursue strategic business opportunities
Provide executive oversight to ensure the credit risk organization is appropriately staffed, equipped, and supported by scalable systems
Communicates department, program, and project performance and process to senior leadership through periodic status reports and presentations
Ensures compliance with industry and legal regulations and best practices, and adherence to company processes and procedures
Maintains knowledge in developing trends and technologies in the industry
Work closely with other senior executives to align credit risk initiatives with overall company strategy

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field
15+ years of experience in credit risk management with at least 7+ years in leadership capacity
5+ years of experience constructing and making presentations to C-level executives
Proven track record of developing and implementing successful credit risk management strategies
Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven solid understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance
Proven solid analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to improve business processes and practices to reduce costs and increase efficiency
Proven interpersonal and negotiation skills
Demonstrated exceptional leadership and team management abilities
Proficient with the financial tools required to make estimates, business forecasts, and strategic decisions
Proven solid organizational skills and attention to detail
Proven excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset
Proficiency with data analytics tools and methodologies
Ability to travel approximately 15% of the time
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with CRM, Zoho/Salesforce
Experience in the healthcare or patient financing industry
Experience with financial technology and digital payment solutions
Proven knowledge of elective procedures in dentistry and generative medicine

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $159,300 to $273,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
