Duties Description The Office of Crime Analysis and Strategic Partnerships (OCASP) is seeking multiple student assistants for the New York City Crime Analysis Center. The handling of these tasks will help the student gain professional skills while assisting OCASP with special projects.The student assistants in OCASP will assist with duties including, but not limited to:- Supporting analysts daily with commercial database checks to develop their analytical capabilities.- Consolidating large sets of information into concise one-page briefs and reports.- Professional interaction with city, state, and federal agency partners.- Maximizing analytical tools to create work products such as Microsoft Office Suite and additional intelligence-based programs.- Use of mapping tools to visualize findings in effective ways for LE partners.
Minimum Qualifications Must be a current student enrolled in a matriculating degree program and have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university.Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate(s) would possess adaptability to new environments, oral and written communication, attention to detail, ability to work well in a group, basic understanding of MS Excel.
