Description
The Senior Automation Developer (UiPath) is an advanced position where the developer has extensive experience and can lead complex automation projects. They lead other developers and ensure best practices are followed in automation development. This role involves analyzing business operations, identifying automation opportunities, developing bots, and maintaining existing bots.
Senior-Level Technical Expectations:
This is a senior role closely aligned with an automation architect position. Candidates must have extensive UiPath experience and strong technical leadership, including:
Designing, architecting, and reviewing UiPath automation solutions, including custom development using VB.NET (additional languages preferred).
Performing code reviews and mentoring developers on best practices.
Applying process re-engineering principles while understanding UiPath capabilities and limitations.
Experience with the UiPath ecosystem, including tools such as AI Center, UiPath Apps, and Document Understanding.
Business Analysis & Process Design Responsibilities:
This role includes significant Business Analyst and Process Design responsibilities, including:
Partnering with stakeholders to assess current-state processes, identify automation opportunities, and define future-state workflows.
Leading the creation of Process Design Documents (PDDs) through interviews, process walkthroughs, and validation with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
Eliciting and translating business requirements into clear technical specifications for development teams.
Facilitating requirements sessions, sprint planning, and backlog grooming in agile environments.
Documenting process exceptions, business rules, and edge cases to ensure accurate delivery and prevent scope creep.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the analysis of business operations and identify automation opportunities
Design and develop complex UiPath solutions or alternative automation solutions in accordance with standard design principles
Create and document test procedures and scenarios for the pre-UAT phases
Deploy RPA bots and manage and maintain them for operational stability
Document process details and ensure that all tasks are well documented
Perform debugging and troubleshooting for the deployed RPA solutions, including on call assignments for production issues
Proficiently work with database systems (e.g., SQL) and seamlessly integrate automation solutions with APIs and web services
Develop and maintain reusable components, libraries, and templates in UiPath to accelerate development and ensure consistency across projects.
Assess and solve issues that arise in day to day running of RPA processes and provides timely responses and solutions, as needed
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the implementation of RPA solutions according to business needs
Ensure the quality of the system through rigorous testing methods and industry-standard practices
Adhere to best practices and standards and suggest ways to improve
Lead other developers and provide guidance on best practices
Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices
Facilitate peer review of solution designs
Manage and lead automation projects and teams
Partner with Automation Architects, custom developers and other leaders to develop automation solutions as a collaborative approach
Stay current with UiPath advancements (e.g. Document Understanding, AI Center) and recommend innovative approaches to enhance automation capabilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
4-6 years of experience in automation development
8-12 years of experience in a technical role
Advanced proficiency in UiPath Studio, UiPath Orchestrator, and automation techniques such as data scraping, OCR, and custom reusable activities.
RPA certification (e.g., UiPath Certified Professional, Automation Anywhere Certified Advanced RPA Professional, Blue Prism Developer Certification)
Strong programming skills in VB.NET, C#, or Python to extend UiPath functionality
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
The ability to quickly understand and digest business process and to conceptualize as an automated solution in a team environment
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Strong communication and documentation skills
Experience with software development lifecycle and agile frameworks
Experience in leading and managing automation projects and teams
Experience in managing, mentoring and guiding less experienced developers
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with intelligent automation tools like AI Center, Document Understanding, or OCR platforms (e.g., Abbyy, Tesseract)
Healthcare Automation experience, preferably healthcare operations
Scrum Master or other Agile certifications
Extensive experience in healthcare automation
Ability to transform raw data into insightful visualizations and interactive reports in PowerBI
This is a senior role, closely aligned with an architect position - candidate must have extensive UiPath experience and proficiency in a second development language. Need to know how to perform code reviews, architect processes, and create custom code using VB.NET.
Candidate should be proficient in process re-engineering and understand UiPath's capabilities and limitations to design optimal process architectures.
Knowledge of multiple UiPath tools, including UiPath AI Center, UiPath Apps, and Document Understanding, is required.
