JOB REQUIREMENTS: Essential Duties and Responsibilities Collaborates
with the System CNO, MHTC CNO, Ambulatory CNO and other nursing
leadership to include all levels of nursing in the development of the
Department of Nursing's Strategic Plan and Performance Improvement
Plan. Ensures the successful function of the Nursing Practice Council
structure and its successful participation with the development of a
System-Wide Nursing Practice Council. Responsible for the day -to-day
clinical practice of nursing including education, quality, and research
for all areas within assigned Critical Access Hospital. Defines
standards of care for nursing practice which promote and facilitate a
multidisciplinary, team approach to patient and family centered care and
care coordination. Responsible for nursing service operations for the
inpatient nursing units, surgical services, and other areas as assigned.
Collaborates with nursing leadership and partners for other service
areas e.g. ED, Maternity, Radiology, Laboratory, and Registration , to
meet the needs of their specific patient populations. Responsible for
physician hospitalist and anesthesia department operations. Collaborates
with Clinical Directors, Nursing Directors and all Leaders to ensure
proper utilization of evidenced based practice, Joint Commission
standards, quality measures, and national patient safety goals.
Collaborates with nursing leadership and other leaders and is
responsible for achievement of patient satisfaction (PressGaney and
HCAHP) action plans to achieve targets for the Critical Access Hospital.
Collaborates with the medical staff to ensure quality, safety,
regulatory compliance and achievement of strategic goals. Oversight for
fiscal planning and setting resource allocation priorities in achieving
fiscal goals for inpatient nursing and assigned areas of accountability.
Provides leadership, supervision, guidance and development for staff,
articulating and demonstrating an expectation for continuous quality
improvement, as well as continually supporting and exhibiting system
values and service standards. Identifies and provides growth
opportunities for staff. Ensures and fosters a high level of
collaboration within a highly matrix team environment in order to
coordinate activities, review work, exchange information, and resolve
problems. Champions and promotes service excellence philosophies and
behaviors at the facility and system levels. Functions as an integral
member of the hospital operations and system leadership teams, serving
in an advisory capacity to applicable staff. In collaboration with
leadership team members, directs and provides oversight regarding the
