Overview
BigBear.ai is seeking a Software Engineer 2 to join an ever-evolving project where you will design, develop, and deploy mission-critical tools and solutions. This role involves working closely with customers to understand and support operational requirements, as well as analyzing large data sets to deliver mission-centric insights. You will collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and other software engineers to integrate cutting-edge technologies and solutions. What you will do
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the team to understand and address the needs of analysts and developers
Software Development: Design, architect, and implement robust and scalable software solutions that align with project objectives and requirements
Optimization: Continuously improve and optimize the existing codebase to ensure high performance and maintainability
Project Ownership: Independently drive projects, taking ownership of the entire development lifecycle
Automation: Assist with automating development tasks and implementing CI/CD workflows and development best practices, such as testing
Customer Communication: Emphasize customer communication and gather feedback on project status and results
Code Reviews: Perform thorough code reviews to ensure quality and compliance
Stakeholder Collaboration: Elicit requirements from stakeholders to align solutions with mission objectives
Documentation: Write detailed documentation to support compliance processes and operational workflows
What you need to have
Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph
Education & Experience:
B.S. in a technical discipline or 4 additional years of experience in place of a degree
8 years of experience in production-grade software development
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and Java
Familiarity with version control systems like Git for collaborative development
Experience using the command line in UNIX or Linux environments
Experience working in multi-node networked environments
Adaptability: Willingness and ability to learn and adapt quickly on the job, including internal systems unique to CNO
Problem-Solving: A problem-solving mindset and a passion for delivering quality solutions
What we'd like you to have
CNO Experience: Experience working within the CNO customer space
DevOps Expertise: Familiarity with DevOps tools and processes, such as automated testing and CI/CD workflows
Containerization: Experience with service containerization and deployment using Docker and Kubernetes
SIGINT Knowledge: Knowledge of end-to-end SIGINT collection and analysis systems
