The Role: Product Owner
Norstella is seeking a skilled and collaborative Product Owner to join the Biomedtracker team. In this role, you will support the ongoing development of products in the life sciences space, working closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients. The position calls for strong product ownership skills, comfort working with data-driven and AI-enabled capabilities, and the ability to navigate a range of use cases within a complex product environment. The successful candidate will bring clear communication, sound judgment, and a pragmatic approach to delivering high-quality solutions that meet both user and business needs.
Responsibilities:
Manage the product backlog and prioritize features based on business value, customer needs, and market trends.
Define, refine, and communicate product vision, goals, and user stories to the development team and stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with the development team to translate requirements into actionable tasks and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and gather customer feedback to identify market needs and drive product enhancements.
Work closely with stakeholders, including clients and internal teams, to gather requirements, address concerns, and ensure alignment on product strategy and roadmap.
Facilitate agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Serve as the primary point of contact for product-related questions, issues, and updates from stakeholders and clients.
Maintain a deep understanding of customer personas and workflows, market challenges, competitors, industry regulations, and available technology to inform product decision-making.
Collaborate with the UX/UI design team to create intuitive, accessible, secure, innovative, and user-friendly product interfaces.
Ensure effective communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ad hoc duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience as a product owner, product manager, data scientist, data analyst, or business analyst.
Proven experience in managing product backlogs, defining user stories, and prioritizing features.
Strong understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and ability to apply agile principles in a fast-paced development environment.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
Proficient in using project management and collaboration tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Lucid, Figma, Monday) to manage product development processes.
Preferred qualifications:
Background in data science and artificial intelligence technologies within the life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industry.
Experience using SQL or other data access tools to enable self-discovery of data.
Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including healthcare providers, payers, and regulatory bodies.
Experience translating complex clinical, regulatory, or commercial data into actionable product requirements, including the ability to balance scientific accuracy with user-centric design.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $95,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
