JOB SPECIFICS
The IT Network Analyst, Senior reviews, analyzes and responds to requests for communications network systems, participates in network planning, design and development. This position provides technical expertise and leadership for the County's Infrastructure and Operations team, including recommendations for equipment, lifecycle, roadmap, training, and project prioritization.
Serve as principal network resource for the County which include 1,400 users, 200 switches 12 firewalls and 150 Access Points, across 23 locations
Design, implement and manage advanced networks using best practices to optimize connectivity and enhance performance across multiple sites
Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather network requirements, assess needs, and provide solutions that align with County objectives
Direct network upgrades, migrations, and installations, ensuring minimal impact on users and maintaining high availably
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other network administrators, assisting in their skill development and growth
Collaborate with vendors and service providers acting as the primary network technical resource
Administer, manage, and implement site-to-site and remote access VPN's
Responsible for implementation and administration of the County's Software Defined Network
This role will also responsible for management of the County's fiber optic network
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:
Paid work experience leading projects on a network team supporting data and communication networks for an organization
Paid work experience managing secure network traffic, including monitoring for intrusion, threats, utilization, performance, and errors
Paid work experience in a leadership role managing projects involving a technical team of 3 or more personnel for an organization
Paid work experience as a functional team lead configuring and supporting 20 or more firewalls for an organization
Paid work experience managing and maintaining a wireless network Wireless Access Points in an organization
Paid work experience implementing and maintaining VOIP/Telecomm
Paid work experience with external fiber pathways, connections, cabling and specifications leading a network team recommending and supporting equipment and connectivity for an organization
SELECTION TECHNIQUE: Your training and experience will be rated based on the required application material submitted and the top scoring candidates will be forwarded to the hiring department for further consideration.
HOURS / DAYS: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday-Friday, after hours/weekends as needed for maintenance and projects. Work schedules (hours and days) and location are subject to change based on department needs.
ANTICIPATED HIRING RATE: $87,276.80 - $103,261.60 Annually

JOB SUMMARY
The IT Senior Communications Network Analyst reviews, analyzes and responds to requests for communication network systems, participates in network planning, design and development, provides support to management, network users and technical staff by developing solutions to complex network questions or problems. Operates and maintains network facilities and manages large and complex projects or acts as a functional team coordinator or staff specialist.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field and six (6) years of experience installing, operating or maintaining communications network/telecom hardware or software and at least two (2) years of experience leading technical projects and/or teams, OR an Associate degree in Information Technology or related field and eight (8) years of experience installing, operating or maintaining communications network/telecom hardware or software and at least two (2) years of experience leading technical projects and/or teams, OR an equivalent combination of education and job related work experience that totals ten (10) years of experience installing, operating or maintaining communications network/telecom hardware or software and at least two (2) years of experience leading technical projects and/or teams.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Administer and maintain communications network systems and provide user support.
Analyze requests for communications network/telecom systems to determine scope, feasibility and cost.
Determine appropriate use of resources and make recommendations.
Implement new or upgraded systems.
Participate in network/telecom planning, design and development projects.
Evaluate existing network/telecom resources, conducts need analysis, research hardware and software alternatives and conducts simulations of proposed solutions.
Evaluate new hardware and software for completeness and compatibility with existing systems.
Recommend systems for purchase.
Recommend operational, policy and procedural changes.
Analyze and troubleshoot complex network/telecom hardware and software malfunctions for management, network users and technical staff.
Operate communications network facilities (links, routing and switching systems), network monitoring and control facilities.
Monitor and implement network use and security protocols.
Use and maintain tools for the monitoring and analysis of network activities.
Maintain network/telecom infrastructure, hardware, software, services and configurations.
Install, test, and optimize network/telecom components and services.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work will involve remaining in a stationary position for extended periods of time, although the incumbent will need to move about inside the office to access files or equipment from time to time and may occasionally need to travel to other sites to perform work or interact with other professionals. The ability to operate and interact with computers or other office equipment, via keyboard, mouse, touch screen, or other Human Interface Device (HID) is required. The incumbent will be exposed to noise and a regular flow of people around an office environment, assigned to changing priorities and occasionally required to work outside of typical business hours to meet project deadlines, or be available on an on-call basis for special projects or to provide support. The incumbent may occasionally need to move or transport moderately heavy objects, such as computer equipment and peripheral, unbox, install, inspect, troubleshoot and repair computer equipment, position themselves to inspect and maintain computer equipment under desks, beneath raised flooring, above suspended ceiling, in data closets, cabling channels/trees, or equipment racks.
