Are you passionate about operating and enhancing mission-critical data security solutions that protect Amazon's vast infrastructure This role is Iliad Identity team in Amazon Security and an ideal candidate will be a Microsoft Purview Administrator who can bring their expertise to a setting Purview and RMS in Amazon Security.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the management and maintenance of our Microsoft Purview applications, with a focus on setting up and maintaining data governance and compliance policies, encryption, and supporting the Microsoft 365 environment in a highly secure, classified environment.
In this pivotal role, you'll be at the forefront of implementing, operating, and continuously improving our data security services, working with both first-party and third-party security solutions. Your work will directly impact the effectiveness and reliability of our endpoint solutions, making a direct impact on the security posture of Amazon and its subsidiaries. Key job responsibilities
Administer and optimize the deployment, configuration, and performance of our security services across Amazon's global infrastructure and its subsidiaries.
Design, implement, and test data governance and compliance policies, including data classification, labeling, and DLP policies.
Setup encryption, on data managed by admin and user level encryption.
Should have good understanding of cryptography and key management.
Monitor and optimize these policies to align with regulatory requirements.
Deploy and configure Microsoft Purview and integrated Microsoft 365 services.
Administer and manage role groups, custom roles, and permissions within the Purview portal.
Mitigate risks by protecting sensitive data from internal and external threats.
Implement information protection and insider risk management solutions
A day in the life
As a Systems Engineer in the ESCAPE team, your day centers on maintaining Amazon's data security posture. You'll monitor system health, address alerts, and collaborate with security engineers, IT, third party vendors, and others to optimize deployments. Tasks include fine-tuning automation scripts, testing new capabilities, and analyzing logs for potential issues. You'll work closely with environment owners to prioritize features and plan deployments. Your customers are Amazon's business units and subsidiaries, whose data you protect. Key challenges involve maintaining system performance at scale, minimizing impact related to changes and deployments, and swiftly responding to issues within our supported infrastructure. Your role is vital in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of Amazon's endpoint security platform across its diverse technology landscape.

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of systems engineering experience
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or relevant work experience
Experience in any of the following: Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash, Shell or equivalent
4+ years of site reliability engineering (SRE), systems engineering, systems administration, DevOps, security administration, or network administration experience
5+ years of experience in data security engineering, with expertise in Microsoft security technologies including Purview and Defender for Office.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing and developing scripts to automate operational burdens and reviewing scripting changes to ensure they meet the standards for maintainability, scalability and security
Experience working in 24/7 production environment
Experience with service-oriented architecture and web services
Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900), Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200), Microsoft Certified: Information Protection Administrator (SC-400), CISSP, CISM.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
