Job Description:
Manages daily operations and maintains department budgets.
Oversees recruitment, retention, training, and competence of staff and analysts.
Ensures accuracy, timeliness, reliability, and detail of staff work products.
Builds and maintains relationships across multiple disciplines to achieve common goals.
Establishes and communicates analytics reporting and business intelligence vision and standards for the department and its customers.
Actively engages with internal customers through regular communication to manage expectations and prioritize assignments.
Collaborates with the Analytics Director and AIT resources to support, maintain, and develop and maintain clinical analytics, including database development, benchmarking, and QA of scorecards.
Prepares and compiles key statistical reports for ongoing process monitoring. Identifies best practices and recommends process improvements.
Other duties as assigned.
Investigates and recommends selection and improvement of external analytic tools to senior leadership as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong organizational skills with the ability to focus detailed, concentrated effort on multiple projects and re-establish priorities as necessary. [Required]
Excellent analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively summarize data, present insights, facilitate discussion of results, and creatively use existing resources for problem resolution. [Required]
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor message to individuals and audiences throughout the institution and succinctly translate high-level concepts into actionable items. [Required]
Mastery of desktop applications, including MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Access) and database management applications, as well as proficiency with data management, visualization, and statistical analysis tools and techniques (Excel, PowerBI, Qlikview, Tableau, Minitab, R, Strata, SAS, Access, or similar products). [Required]
Ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals, lead a project independently with little to no direction, and manage multiple projects simultaneously while thriving in a setting requiring collaboration and teamwork. [Required]
Thorough knowledge of information systems and their application to healthcare, current issues in the healthcare environment, particularly regarding quality measurement, outcomes studies, healthcare finance, and patient safety, and knowledge in registry structure, development, validation entry, and reporting procedures. [Required]
Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with all levels of staff and leadership as well as external stakeholders of the organization, utilizing diplomacy skills and flexibility in response to clients' changing concerns. [Required]
Ability to effectively respond to time-sensitive issues and meet deadlines, with proven leadership ability and initiative to work independently (self-direction), while fostering collaboration and teamwork for maximal efficiency and effectiveness. [Required]
Attention to detail that ensures follow-through on all initiatives implemented and all projects undertaken. [Required]
Knowledge and application of statistical analyses, including financial variance analysis and statistical significance. [Preferred]
Familiar with the maintenance and dissemination of national registries for the purposes of accessing comparative benchmarking and optimizing clinical outcomes, surveys and applications to national recognition programs (US News, Leapfrog, BEACON, centers of excellence, etc.), and the ability to develop gap reports and analyses to improve submissions. [Preferred]
Experience in data management tools and techniques, and strong experience with data mining/extraction tools (merging dimensions, custom SQL). [Preferred]

Field of Study:
in statistics, business, technology, economics, mathematics, allied health, or other relevant field and seven years' experience in analytics
in Outcome Research, Statistics/Bio-Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Nursing, or related field and three to five years of relevant experience in a health care environment
Work Experience:
