BigBear.ai is seeking a Front-End Software Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team in Annapolis Junction, MD. What you will do
Collaborate with analysts and operators to understand their unique UI needs and challenges.
Design, develop, and maintain user-facing web applications for data visualization, task automation, and workflow optimization.
Take ownership of projects, driving them from concept to completion with minimal supervision.
Architect and implement scalable, high-performance front-end solutions that align with mission objectives.
Continuously improve and optimize existing codebases to ensure maintainability and performance.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for innovation and tool optimization.
What you need to have
Experience: 12+ years of technical experience and a B.S. in a technical discipline (or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree).
Clearance: TS/SCI with Poly (required).
Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in front-end technologies, particularly the React ecosystem, for building user interfaces.
Strong understanding of scalable, maintainable, and high-performance front-end architectures (e.g., state management, responsive design).
Familiarity with modern version control (Git) and DevOps tools, including containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Mindset: A problem-solving attitude, adaptability, and a passion for delivering high-quality, user-focused solutions.
Mission-Driven: A proven ability to quickly learn and adapt to the unique challenges of the CNO mission.
What we'd like you to have
Advanced knowledge of the React ecosystem (e.g., Vite, Tanstack Query, Tailwind CSS, Redux).
Experience with data visualization libraries (e.g., Chart.js, D3.js, Recharts).
Familiarity with relational databases (MySQL, SQLite, Postgres) and Elasticsearch.
Exposure to Django, WebSockets, Redis, and real-time data handling frameworks.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Linux (CentOS/RHEL), and cloud services (S3, EC2, RDS).
Prior experience in CNO or XP/Agile software development.
Knowledge of software reverse engineering and XKS.
