Amentum seeks to fill a Geology Intern position within the JETS II Science and Exploration Department with University of Las Vegas, a subcontractor company. This candidate must reside or be willing to relocate to Houston, TX for on-site work requirements at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. The approximate dates for this internship are May 16 - August 14, 2026.
This is a temporary role not to exceed 14 weeks.
The Geology Intern will:
Work within the Simulant Development Lab and spend the majority of their time working with and analyzing granular materials.
The intern will use lab equipment and instruments to
Run geotechnical analysis
Perform direct shear tests
Density measurements
Characterize granular materials.
Work with a team of geoscientists and engineers to perform tests in lab spaces
Requisition Qualifications:
Intern pursuing BS degree
BS/MS student in material science, geotechnical engineering, geoscience

Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
