ASRC Federal Facilities Logistics, LLC, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is seeking a Maintenance Trades Helper to support our Prime NASA program at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD.
Summary/General Description of Job:
Performs semiskilled and unskilled tasks related to the maintenance and repair involved in assisting journey-level workers in a variety of crafts related to the maintenance and/or repair of facility equipment and structures. The Maintenance Trades Helper is closely supervised.
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
Perform tasks involved in assisting a journey-level worker in the various trades and have an elementary knowledge of hand tools and mechanical processes.
Performs recurring tasks such as moving materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work site
Work in more than one trade area, as assigned
Perform routine and preventive maintenance
Completes records, maintains tools, and equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities
Interacts with coworkers in an attentive courteous manner
Complies with applicable federal, state, NASA, GSFC, and OSHA laws and regulations.
Coordinates with other trade and warehouse personnel in the identification of proper and correct materials, parts assemblies and requirements for a variety of requisitions necessary for the job/task.
Performs periodic stock inventories and request material requisitions for replacement items as required.
Ability to operate vehicles and/or other equipment.
Assists and supports other departments, staff and/or trade groups as needed or directed.
Adheres to the established safety and personnel policies and standard operating procedures.
Performs other related work as required or assigned.
Accountable For:
Timely and cost-effective performance of duties.
Adherence to all safety, environmental and health rules and regulations.
Working with the Supervisors and Operators to outline work to be done, after which incumbent is expected to work independently.
Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations):
Mandatory
High school graduate or equivalent GED.
General experience assisting one or more in the skilled maintenance trades by performing specific duties of lesser skill.
Ability to lift 50 pounds and team lift 75 pounds.
Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding or ramps
Knowledge of hand and power tools.
Mature judgment.
Ability to adapt to changes in technology and applicable facility/infrastructure codes and standards.
Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
Valid driver's license.
U.S. Citizenship.
Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug screen.
