Communication Strategist - NASA Johnson Space Center
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Communication Strategist to support the Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) program at Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will anticipate needs, design, and execute integrated communication strategies that align with NASAs mission and messaging.
This role requires a strong understanding of the science and objectives behind CLPS to produce accurate, engaging content under deadline. The strategist will craft articles, features, news releases, talking points, and social media content; plan outreach and media activities; and collaborate across NASA centers and industry partners. The successful candidate will be a trusted resource for the Office of Communications, ensuring strategies and tactics are fully coordinated across programs and departments.
Key Responsibilities
Quickly gain fluency in CLPS technical details and science.
Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans and strategies.
Draft high-quality content for public and internal audiences, including news releases, web features, fact sheets, and social media.
Prepare talking points, briefing materials, and presentation charts for events and engagements.
Support stakeholders and leadership with communication needs, including event participation.
Create and manage campaigns, presentations, and visual assets; contribute to multimedia content as needed.
Review and edit all communication materials for accuracy, quality, and message alignment.
Serve as liaison between programs, NASA centers, directorates, and the Office of Communications.
Manage media relations, including interviews and outreach.
Handle multiple complex projects under tight deadlines and shifting priorities.

Qualification
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or other appropriate area of specialization from anaccredited college or university
Must have 5 years of relevant experience
Proficient in oral and written communications, including writing and editing
Proficient in AP style
Advanced problem-solving skills
Will undergo a standard background check along with verification of educationrequirements
