GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Ross Investigative and Safety Center (RISC), located at our Dublin, CA Corporate Campus, is a state-of-the-art Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) which serves as the centralized crisis response and communications hub for the company. The RISC operates 24/7/365 and plays a vital role in ensuring the safety of our 2,100 Stores, 128,000+ Associates, office locations, supply chain operations, and Ross travelers globally.
RISC is tasked with the critical responsibility of monitoring and analyzing global intelligence to identify and assess potential threats to our operations, including natural disasters, geopolitical risks, severe weather events, and travel security concerns. As the central hub for intaking, assessing, and communicating on any potential risks, the RISC provides real-time situational awareness and strategic insights, enabling proactive threat mitigation and response. In addition to intelligence and crisis response, additional programs led or supported by the RISC include coordinating workplace violence threat response, travel security program management, oversight of guard deployments nationwide, remote compliance audits of key LP/operational processes, and overnight alarm/CCTV monitoring.
ROLE
RISC Analysts play a pivotal role in our global security and crisis response strategy by serving on the frontline within a high-volume, fast-paced Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) environment. This position requires the use of sound judgment and logic to make effective decisions and coordinate responses to unique or evolving situations. You will lead the monitoring and assessment of global threats, provide critical support for traveler security, manage incident communication, and assist with leading cross functional crisis response efforts as part of the Stores Crisis Management Team (SCMT) program.
Your ability to analyze complex situations, make in-the-moment decisions, provide Best in Class customer service, and help drive effective outcomes is essential to the role. RISC Analysts are actively involved in the execution of numerous complex, high visibility programs including workplace violence threat assessment, managing guard deployments to Stores nationwide, travel security program management, global intelligence monitoring, as well as responding to alarms and incidents affecting stores.
The base pay range for this role is $31.35 - $46.85. The base pay range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintaining a Safe & Secure Environment
Creates, reviews, edits, and improves content for communications to recap safety related incidents to field and business partners
Effectively executes the Stores Crisis Management Program by compiling and providing intelligence from remote monitoring, technology and media sources timely and accurately
Works cross-functionally with various business partner teams; acts as a liaison between field and corporate departments
Responsible for holding business partners accountable for providing appropriate updates and adhering to processes during large scale crisis events
Threat Assessment and Monitoring:
Continuously monitor global intelligence sources, analyzing emerging threats that may impact our retail operations and assets.
Utilize logic and sound judgment to assess potential impacts on Ross operations to ensure risks are appropriately reviewed and communicated.
Draft executive updates, planned event communications, and traveler notifications, when warranted.
Traveler Security Support:
Monitor and respond to security risks that could potentially affect employees traveling globally and be prepared to offer real-time support and guidance.
Intake and assess intelligence alerts to determine potential need to escalate to leadership or notify travelers.
Engage third-party intelligence providers and conduct open source research to further assess traveler-related risks, when warranted.
Crisis Response & Communication:
Manage the high-volume intake, logging, and communication of incidents, ensuring swift and accurate information dissemination.
Coordinate with internal teams and external partners, using logical decision-making to resolve incidents and effectively communicate ongoing situations.
Lead and facilitate strategic response calls during incidents, ensuring cross-functional teams are aligned and informed.
Develop, implement, and continuously improve crisis response efforts, including updating process guides and participating in regular drills to ensure readiness.
Guard Program
Coordinate the deployment of guards to stores in response to threats or serious incidents.
Develop post orders, conduct guard check-ins, complete uniform inspections, and leverage CCTV review to ensure guards meet RISC standards.
Engage with guard providers to escalate any missed check-ins or guard-related issues.
Alarm and CCTV Monitoring:
Respond to alarm activations, coordinating with local law enforcement and security teams to ensure prompt resolution.
Conduct detailed CCTV video reviews for incidents to provide validation in response to incidents and guide alarm response strategy.
Incident Intake & Reporting:
Maintain precise and detailed records of incidents, actions taken, and outcomes.
Prepare and present high-level reports and analyze data on RISC programs to identify trends and provide actionable insights to leadership.
Ad Hoc Requests & Projects:
Perform special projects and research as conditions warrant.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree is desired, preferably in Criminal Justice, International Relations, Communications, or Business
1-3 years of relevant work experience preferred
Proficiency in and knowledge of computer software including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Ability to interact professionally and effectively present information to all levels within the team and organization
