Job Duties and Responsibilities
The AI Enablement team supports the AI Office by helping to enable AI capabilities at scale for EchoStar. This includes a wide range of responsibilities such as providing training, reporting on AI progress, AI office operations support, and assisting in solution development. We are seeking an AI Value Analyst of AI Enablement with a specialized focus on valuation of AI initiatives. This role is a strategic business partner to our AI, product and shared services teams, responsible for providing the financial insights necessary to make informed decisions regarding AI.
This role is crucial for bridging the gap between our AI development teams and business units, ensuring that our AI products are not only technically sound but also intelligent business decisions.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in financial operations and executive level reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and track key financial and operational metrics to measure the value and ROI of deployed AI initiatives. Prepare and present detailed reports on the financial performance of our AI portfolio to senior leadership
Maintain valuation models (e.g., Discounted Cash Flow, NPV, IRR, TCO, and Payback Period) for new and existing AI products, features, and research initiatives to aid in decision support
Assist and facilitate the AI Office intake process, serving as a point of contact for new AI project submissions. This includes reviewing initial requests, coordinating cross-functional evaluations, and ensuring all proposals meet necessary criteria for valuation and strategic alignment
Partner with product managers and business leaders to build comprehensive business cases for proposed AI projects identified during the intake process, including revenue projections and cost analysis
Create and manage financial forecasts for AI-related costs, including cloud computing, data acquisition, and personnel expenses, and identify opportunities for cost optimization
Provide financial expertise and strategic recommendations to guide resource allocation and ensure our AI investments align with the company's long-term financial goals
Implement a framework for capturing value that coincides with key milestones in the delivery lifecycle for AI, starting from the initial intake and feasibility assessment phase. Educate stakeholders on the framework, templates, and roles and responsibilities
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a finance, corporate development, or valuation-focused role.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field. MBA, CFA or equivalent is a plus
Demonstrable experience with financial modeling and business case development
Proven experience in valuing technology, SaaS, or AI-driven products and initiatives is highly preferred
An understanding of the AI/ML lifecycle, including key cost drivers such as cloud computing, data acquisition, and specialized hardware
Experience working in a fast-paced, technology-focused environment is a plus
Familiarity with the telecommunications industry and key financial drivers is a plus
Skills and Qualifications:
Ability to work collaboratively, delegate, keep an organized portfolio of work, and lead meetings/workshops, specifically those related to project intake and prioritization
Proficiency in Excel-driven financial modeling, valuation methodologies, and business case development. Experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus
An understanding of the core components and cost drivers of AI/ML models, including cloud computing, data pipelines, and computational resources
Understanding of process design and documentation with a keen focus on rigor and scalability using tools, automation, and AI to streamline the AI Office intake workflow
Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and translate complex financial concepts into actionable insights
Familiar with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their AI/ML service offerings
Ability to work collaboratively, delegate, keep an organized portfolio of work, and lead meetings/workshops
Player-coach mindset to educate business leaders on how to value AI; skilled in training and building user guides, templates, and job aids
Understanding of process design and documentation with a keen focus on rigor and scalability using tools, automation, and AI
Salary Ranges
Compensation: $63,150.00/Year - $90,000.00/Year
