SAIC, a leader in providing cutting-edge solutions to federal agencies, is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to support the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering (OUSW(R&E)). This individual will play a key role in financial analysis, audit preparation, and ongoing audit support, ensuring adherence to federal financial management regulations and processes while supporting OUSW(R&E)'s mission objectives. This position is 100% remote.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed analysis of financial data, prepare accurate financial reports, and provide actionable insights to leadership to support effective decision-making.
Audit Support:Prepare and review financial documents, records, and supporting materials to ensure compliance with audit requirements and federal standards.
Liaise with auditors, program managers, and internal stakeholders to facilitate efficient audit processes.
Identify, monitor, and address deficiencies or discrepancies in financial reporting systems or documents.
Ensure financial processes align with DoW regulatory frameworks, including the DoW Financial Management Regulation (DoW FMR) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Assist with budgetary planning, including program-level forecasting, tracking of obligations and expenditures, and aligning financial objectives with OUSW(R&E) priorities.
Perform reconciliations to confirm the accuracy of financial transactions, addressing any variances promptly and thoroughly.
Coordinate with diverse teams, including program management, accounting, procurement, and external stakeholders, to meet mission-oriented financial goals.
Respond to financial and audit-related inquiries promptly to support decision-making across OUSW(R&E).
The salary range for this position is $125,000 to $150,000.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Master's degree or certifications (e.g., CPA, CDFM, CGFM) preferred.
Experience: Bachelors with a minimum of 10 years of experience or Masters with minimum of 8 years of experience. Experience in financial analysis or financial management within the Department of War or a federal agency. Proven experience supporting or leading audit activities, preferably within a federal environment.
Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office to include PowerPoint, Word, Access and Excel, and possess strong written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge and experience with regard to the OSW-level Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process.
Proficiency in financial management systems, tools, and software (e.g., MS Excel, Tableau, SAP, or other DoW systems).
Familiarity with federal financial management regulations, including DoW FMR, OMB Circular A-123, and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
Required Clearance:
Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI Clearance. U.S. citizenship required.
Desired Qualifications:
Prior experience with the Office of the Secretary of War (OSW), OUSW(R&E), or similar DoW organizations.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities seamlessly.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
