Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse to assume responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care. The RN demonstrates clinical judgment, critical thinking, and performance ability in coordinating patient care, consistently adhering to nursing standards and facility policies.
Responsibilities:
Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
Perform focused interviews to identify patient needs.
Assess physiologic and psychosocial changes in patient condition.
Collect, analyze, and interpret data to document nursing diagnoses and plans of care.
Prioritize and perform interventions according to patient care requirements and hospital policies.
Provide a safe, therapeutic environment and initiate patient/family education.
Revise care plans based on evaluation and changes in medical plans.
Document patient responses and maintain consistency with standards of care.
Support professional practice in accordance with Nurse Practice Act, Joint Commission standards, and Amergis policies.

Schedule:
Shift: Days
Hours: 4x12-hour shifts (48 hrs/week)
Call: No call
Weekends: Every other or every 3rd weekend
Holiday Rotation: Required
Requirements:
Orientation Date: 2/16 - Firm
Experience:
Minimum 24 months of current Med Surg experience - Required
Med Surg Renal Urology Transplant care experience - Required
At least 1 travel contract completed within previous 12 months - Required
Technical Skills:
EPIC EMR experience - Required
Skills Checklist specific to Med Surg discipline - Required
Licensure:
Active Iowa RN license or Compact/Multistate license at time of submission - Required
Certifications:
AHA or ARC BLS - Required
Documentation:
Professional Reference (charge/supervisor/manager/director/CNO/COO) within last 24 months - Preferred
Driver's License - Required
Additional:
Current Health Certificate (per facility/state regulation)
Current PPD or Chest X-Ray
