Overview
BigBear.ai is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Mission Intelligence (MI) team, supporting a variety of data engineering, analysis, and automation efforts. The MI team maintains a mission-critical business intelligence platform that enables data-driven decision-making across the enterprise. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the availability and performance of this essential platform. Additionally, you will contribute as a software engineer and analytic developer, designing and integrating solutions to analyze large data sets, establish mission cognizance, and deliver mission-centric insights.
What you will do
Maintain and enhance a mission-essential business intelligence platform to ensure its availability and performance.
Elicit requirements from stakeholders, gather and analyze data, and develop solutions to deliver key metrics.
Develop analytics to combine, normalize, and enrich large data sets for actionable insights.
Design and implement Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) workflows to convert and normalize data.
Augment the platform with new tools, technologies, and capabilities.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior software engineers and data scientists.
What you need to have
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with 8+ years of experience, or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph (required).
Technical Skills:
Production-grade software development experience in Java and Python.
Experience deploying and maintaining Elastic Stack components (Elasticsearch, Kibana).
Familiarity with customer authentication and authorization platforms and standards.
Experience with one or more ETL or data engineering platforms (e.g., Apache NiFi, AirFlow).
Proficiency in service containerization and deployment using Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with Git for version control.
Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
What we'd like you to have
Knowledge of map-reduce analytic environments (e.g., Hadoop).
Experience with cloud-based deployment environments (e.g., AWS).
Experience prototyping web applications using JavaScript.
Knowledge of end-to-end SIGINT collection and analysis systems.
Experience with production Computer Network Operations (CNO) capabilities and operations.
