MDW Associates is seeking a Director of Rapid Acquisition & Mission Innovation to support and expand our work across NASA and Space programs. This senior role is designed for a leader who operates at the intersection of mission execution, rapid acquisition, and innovation, helping space programs move efficiently from concept to capability.
The Director will support high-visibility space initiatives-such as advanced power systems, lunar and cislunar infrastructure, and emerging mission technologies-by aligning acquisition strategy, financial execution, and program governance with mission timelines and national priorities.
This role is at Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. This role is 100% at client site.
The * Director of Rapid Acquisition & Mission Innovation * may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties:
Support NASA mission portfolios by accelerating the transition of advanced technologies into executable programs and fielded capabilities.
Collaborate with NASA centers, mission directorates, and cross-functional tiger teams to enable rapid progress on complex space initiatives (e.g., lunar surface systems, power and energy solutions, next-generation exploration capabilities).
Serve as a trusted advisor to government stakeholders on mission execution strategies, innovation pathways, and program acceleration.
Apply rapid acquisition and agile program management principles to space and science missions operating under compressed timelines or novel acquisition constructs.
Assist in structuring programs, task orders, and funding strategies that support iterative development, testing, and deployment.
Help bridge the gap between research, demonstration, and sustained mission operations.
Lead or support financial planning, budget formulation, execution tracking, and multi-year phasing for NASA programs and projects.
Analyze program performance, funding alignment, and execution risks; provide clear, actionable insights to government and MDW leadership.
Prepare executive-level briefings, dashboards, and decision materials support
