SSAI seeks a Senior Business Development Specialist to play a key role in driving revenue growth and expanding the company's customer base. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and developing strategic partnerships. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive business success and meet organizational goals.
Responsibilities
Identify and track new federal contract opportunities using SAM.gov, GovWin, agency forecasts, and customer engagement
Maintain and manage the company's business development pipeline and opportunity tracking tools
Support capture activities including win strategy development, competitor research, and teaming outreach
Assist with creation of capture plans, customer profiles, and call plans
Coordinate communication with teaming partners, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
Support all phases of proposal development for RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs
Draft and edit proposal sections such as executive summaries, past performance, management plans, staffing plans, and technical narratives
Coordinate inputs from technical SMEs, leadership, and subcontractors
Ensure proposal compliance with RFP instructions, formatting, and federal acquisition requirements
Track proposal schedules, deadlines, and deliverables to ensure on-time, high-quality submissions
Maintain and update capability statements, past performance write-ups, resumes, and corporate boilerplate
Support preparation of materials for industry days, customer meetings, and teaming events.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B.A) and a minimum of 5 years of experience supporting federal business development, capture, or proposal efforts
Experience supporting proposals for DoD, NASA, or civilian federal agencies
Strong writing, editing, and document management skills
Familiarity with the federal acquisition lifecycle from opportunity identification through contract award
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Desired Qualifications:
Experience working in a small or mid-size federal contracting environment
Experience using federal opportunity tools such as GovWin, SAM.gov, or similar platforms
Understanding of Systems Engineering, IT, or technical services contracting
Experience supporting IDIQs, task orders, or SBIR/STTR programs
Familiarity with proposal best practices, compliance matrices, and color team reviews
