The Senior Analyst, Business Intelligence delivers analysis, insights and reporting for SHRM's internal business units, including membership, marketing, finance, and events teams. This role is responsible for understanding SHRM's data systems and business processes related to membership and translating complex data into accurate, actionable insights that inform decisions across the organization.
Responsibilities
Analyze large data sets from multiple sources to identify trends, drivers, root causes, and business improvement opportunities, and visualize those findings using traditional and digital data visualization tools.
Lead analysis and reporting of SHRM's customer data to support decision-making across membership, marketing, finance, events and other teams.
Build, maintain, and troubleshoot dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, and Alteryx and SQL.
Enhance and standardize data collection processes and procedures ensuring consistent governance
Partner with business stakeholders to understand questions, validate results and translate data into clear, actionable insights, reports or dashboards.
Support a fact-based & data-driven culture by delivering timely, trusted analysis that informs planning and investment decisions

Education & Experience Requirements
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business, Marketing, or equivalent practical experience
At least five (5+) years of hands-on analytics experience working with large or complex datasets
Experience analyzing membership, customer, or product-based data
Experience working in a highly matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders
Hands-on experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting dashboards using PowerBI, Alteryx, SQL and/or Tableau
Advanced experience developing SQL queries and scripts and leveraging data lakehouse and warehouse environments to support analytics and insights (Snowflake, MS Fabric etc.)
Ability to validate data, identify discrepancies, and ensure reporting accuracy
High attention to detail and commitment to data quality while managing multiple priorities
Clear verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Preferred
Demonstrated experience in data storytelling and communicating insights to non-technical audiences
Experience working with customer or member demographics data
Tableau Desktop Certification or Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate
Exposure to cloud-based data platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, or Microsoft Fabric
Exposure to predictive or advanced analytics techniques
Experience with Adobe's MarTech stack (specifically, Adobe RT-CDP, Adobe Analytics, Customer Journey Analytics and/or Journey Optimizer) is a plus
Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across teams and reporting lines

Work Environment
Hybrid Schedule (3 Days In-Office / 2 Days Remote):
This position follows a hybrid work schedule, with Tuesday through Thursday in office and Monday and Friday remote. Employees must be available during standard business hours, with core hours beginning between 8:00-9:00 a.m. and concluding between 5:00-6:00 p.m. local time.

The hiring range for this position is $90,000 to $120,000 per year. This range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.
