Position SummaryThe Business Analyst will support critical program initiatives by gathering business requirements, analyzing workflows, creating data models, and developing business intelligence solutions. This role requires extensive experience with Cognos, SQL, and complex analytics, along with strong communication skills and domain expertise in social services or similar fields. Key Responsibilities Gather, analyze, and document complex business requirements and translate them into clear functional and non-functional specifications. Conduct in-depth analysis of business processes, workflows, and data to identify gaps, opportunities, and system enhancements. Create, update, and troubleshoot Cognos Framework Manager and Transformer models to support reporting and analytics needs. Develop and modify reports using Cognos reporting tools, ensuring accuracy, usability, and alignment with business objectives. Perform advanced SQL analysis, including writing complex queries, joining multiple datasets, and applying conditional formatting. Test and validate reports, dashboards, and analytics deliverables; identify issues and lead troubleshooting efforts. Document findings, technical details, and recommendations in clear, professional formats for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Present analytical insights and complex data issues to business partners, leadership, and project stakeholders. Collaborate with teams across social services or related fields to understand program operations and align technical solutions with business needs. Qualifications 7+ years (84 months) of experience in business requirement gathering, analysis, and logical solution design. 7+ years of experience creating and modifying Cognos Framework Manager & Transformer models, including troubleshooting. 7+ years of experience developing and modifying Cognos reports. 7+ years of experience with SQL for reporting and analysis, including complex queries and multi-table joins. 7+ years of experience testing analytics/reporting solutions, performing problem-solving, and documenting complex data issues. 7+ years of experience working within social services or related fields.
