Overview
We are seeking multiple highly motivated individuals with a strong work ethic to support Headquarters of the United States Air Force, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration, SAF/SQ International Affairs/Negotiator Support.
Responsibilities
Provides staff support to SAF/SQ regarding the range of DoD, national security, civil, commercial, and international space issues.
Develops, coordinates, and provides input to the SQ for strategic guidance regarding Defense Space architectures, capabilities and systems; Develops and/or reviews DoD inputs in support of 1) development of other national security space architectures, systems and capabilities; and 2) civil, commercial and/or international space architectures, systems and capabilities.
Interagency coordination and policy support with such agencies as OSTP, NSC, DoS, DoC, DoT, DHS, OSD, NRO, NASA, Army, Navy, Air Force, STRATCOM, AFSPC on topics such as QDR, NSS Strategy and Planning, NSP, NSSS, Space Traffic Management, and international engagement.
Supports AF Space Policy/Strategy lead for interagency issues.
Supports SP Lead for Policy shaping.
Oversee/track coordination and Implementation processes (e.g. DoDD 5102.2), NSS Strategy and Planning (NSSS, GEF, GDF, NMS-SO, Joint Doctrine, NSSP, and NSSPA interface), Congressionally directed actions, Presidential Directives (e.g. QDR, PSD).
Provides technical support to the Defense Space Council, as required.
Provides support to strategic and operational wargame activities
Skills Required
20+ years experience involving military operations, national security activities, space operations or space acquisitions.
Senior staff and decision-making skills.
Strong writing skills evidenced through publications.
Strong public speaking skills.
Desired Skills:
Recent work experience with National Security Space (DoD or IC) community
Recent experience supporting varied short-notice, high-visibility studies and assessments meetings, and integrated product teams
Experience facilitating IPTs by collecting stakeholder inputs and resolving/scoring critical recommendations
Recent work experience with National Security Space (DoD or IC) community
Education
Bachelors degree required, preferably in math, engineering, business, or the sciences.
