HX5 is currently seeking a Linux System Administrator Functional Lead to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, implement, troubleshoot, and sustain Linux based physical and virtual machines for the Missile Defense Space Center
Administer container platforms such as OpenShift, Docker, and Podman as-well-as maintain multiple repositories/
registries
Oversee and perform the hardening of operating systems and STIG compliance
Collaborate with cybersecurity, DevSecOps, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure system administration and compliance practices are maintained
Manage/delegate tasking derived from project, sustainment, and break/fix sources
Manage/mentor a team responsible for ensuring system software installations, maintenance, break/fix activities, and cyber security mitigations are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and service level
agreements.
Develop and maintain system administration procedures and baseline configuration documentation.
Focus on creating, upgrading, managing, and sustaining physical and virtual workstations.

*Salary Range: * This position is expected to pay $130,000 - $170,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
Education and Experience:
Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience:
Must have 5, or more, years of directly related experience to UNIX and/or Linux systems administration
Must have, or obtain within 60 days of hire, a computing environment Linux certification
Must have, or obtain within 60 days of hire, a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g. Security+)
Must have an active DoD Secret, or higher, Security Clearance

Desired Requirements:
Must have a Bachelor's, or higher, in an IT or any STEM related field
Have experience administering a Red Hat Linux environment
Other Position Requirements:
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
Must be able to obtain the required level clearance by date of hire.
Must have a valid Driver's License.
