Summary
The Criminal Investigator is an armed supervisor, who has successfully completed the required NASA training, with NASA Federal arrest authority and Federal Magistrate Training, whose duties may include but are not limited to, providing investigative support to conduct internal and special investigations.
Responsibilities
Conduct administrative, security, and criminal investigations.
Prepares written reports for submission to the Lead Criminal Investigator for all investigations.
Must be able to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays if needed.
Required to report and remain available for emergency duty in expectation of a hurricane, other disaster, or declared emergency.
Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the criminal justice process.
Ability to collect, examine and secure evidence from crime scenes.
Ability to prepare criminal, administrative and sensitive investigative cases, testify in court and make presentations to senior staff.
Ability to conduct interviews with suspects and witnesses.
Knowledge and use of covert surveillance equipment.
Skill in observing suspect activities undetected.
Apply legal concepts, including use of force, search and seizure, and due process.

Qualifications
Possession of a High School Diploma or GED, AAdegreeand 5yearsLaw Enforcement and 1-year investigation experience preferred.
Successfully completed all training and have obtained all required permits, licenses, certifications, and security/medical clearances for the site.
Mustpossessand maintain a valid Florida driver's license.
Must be able to obtain a DoD securityclearance, butnotrequiredto start.
Must be able tomaintainand qualify periodically on a course of fire withhandgun, or other special weapons.
Must be able to meet andmaintainNASA Physical Certifications.
