The Opportunity:
As a Budget and Policy Analyst, you'll play a key role in shaping the financial future of Washington State University. Reporting to the Operating Budget Director, you'll take the lead on complex, high-impact budget and policy analysis. You'll be responsible for planning, forecasting, and coordinating elements of the central university budget-bringing your analytical skills to the table to support strategic decision-making.
In this role, you'll also evaluate the potential impact of proposed state legislation and provide timely, insightful budgetary analysis to senior leadership. Your work will directly influence decisions made by university executives, state agencies, and other key stakeholders. This is a full time ( 100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $4,942.10 - $7,569.55 | In accordance with https://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspxcite=49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
Please note: The final salary offer will typically fall between the minimum and midpoint of the posted range, and will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.

Required Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in accounting, business or public administration or other relevant field and four (4) years of experience in finance or budget administration which has included the use and development of spreadsheets, graphics and databases. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Experience with business intelligence tools.
Experience performing complex data and financial analysis rapidly and accurately.
