Title:
Analytics Business Analyst
Duties:
This position supports enterprise reporting and analytics for the Exchange as a lead analyst and expert to help manage the work of other analysts and in direct creation of reports and data analysis from the WAHBE Data Warehouse (DW). This position ensures ongoing reporting, and analytics maximize HBE's ability to identify and meet customer needs by providing oversight and consultation with DW user analysts to review project plans, outputs, standards, and formats, targeting reports to specific audiences, aligning analysis with enterprise goals and initiatives. The position assists the Analytics Leader and Analytics Senior Manager in setting strategic direction and in developing data strategies and processes for DW management, DW user management and DW administration, such as tracking change requests, elucidating report requests, ensuring report accuracy and availability, and advancing user skill sets. This position collaborates with technical IT DW staff to facilitate report and glossary curation, standard use of data, problem resolution, change requests and change management. This position also assist/lead in development of external and annual reports: Extract data, create visualizations, apply quality assurance processes, collaborate with senior team members to assemble a finished report by applying creativity and innovation in development of unique visuals to better illustrate data of interest.
Position Requirements:
Requires a Master of Science degree or foreign equivalent in Business administration (Business Analytics), Information Technology Management, or a closely related field, and five years of experience in an analytics, data science, consultant or business intelligence-related role. Of the five years of experience, the position requires four years of experience in the following:
Design and utilize data models within the context of healthcare or health insurance coverage to design strategic metrics and dashboards with PowerBI, Tableau, SQL (Oracle and SQL Server Management Studio), Alation (Data catalog), Rules Engine (InRule), R studio, and Python.
Perform data warehousing, data analytics, and data mining techniques, including: understand the transformation of data between the application database and the data warehouse, be able to identify problems and collaborate with technical teams to assess and prioritize corrections, support technical teams in documenting the data warehouse using the Alation data catalog, use statistical methods to create reports/visuals to support priorities and plans.
Extract data, create visualizations, apply quality assurance processes, collaborate within a team to assemble a finished report, and provide user side testing for data warehousing changes and updates.
Organize data warehousing analyst users into a cohesive team to collaboratively review all reports and projects from start to completion and release, as well as capture pain points and consistent errors to suggest data warehousing improvements.
Leverage technology and data analytics tools to resolve real-world business challenges with knowledge of data warehousing technical staff processes and procedures, models, ETL processes, data content and meaning.
Telecommuting permitted up to 90%; employee must reside within the State of Washington. Will accept paid or unpaid internship, research or co-op experience gained during academic studies.
