Job Description
Provides administrative and clinical leadership to Anesthetists. Collaborates with the Anesthesiology Division Chairman, the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) of Ambulatory Nursing, and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to develop structured anesthetist associated metrics for assessing outcomes of the Anesthetist care and quality metrics ensuring that Anesthetists meet various state and federal regulatory agency requirements and that Anesthetists participate in cost saving and revenue generating practices. As an anesthetist member of the Division, the Chief Anesthetist is expected to provide clinical expertise in administering intravenous inhalation and regional anesthetics to render patients insensible to pain during surgical procedures, obstetrical deliveries, or other medical procedures within the division's paradigm of physician-led anesthesia team-based care.
Participation in department planning/staffing as a member of department leadership
Participation in department quality initiatives as a member of department leadership
Participation in departmental recruitment/hiring of anesthetists
Participation in handling personnel issues (including regular performance evaluations) that pertain to anesthetists as a member of departmental leadership.
Be a leader, a point of contact, and a voice for anesthetists with regards to issues between anesthetists and administration, pharmacy, physicians, staff, or clinical issues.
Member of APP leadership council
Utilize clinical leads at SLS and SLH
The Chief will be 0.8 FTE clinical and 0.2 FTE administrative.

3-5 years
Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross, Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross, Cert Registered Nurse Anesthetist - Various
Master's Degree
