Cimarron is seeking junior-level *Cyber Defense Analyst / Incident Responder * to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at either the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL or at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO.
Key Duties:
Execute Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) and Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP) tasks in accordance with Evaluator Scoring Metrics (ESM).
Perform proactive and reactive cybersecurity operations to strengthen the security posture of customer networks.
Identify, analyze, and respond to cyber incidents in alignment with CJCSM 6510.01B.
Conduct end-to-end investigations of cybersecurity events, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Document all incident response activities while preserving artifacts, evidence, and the chain of custody.
Analyze asset, threat, and vulnerability data to assess risks and enhance network defenses.
Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of DCO procedures, manuals, and documentation.
Utilize Cyber Threat Intelligence to identify indicators of compromise and recommend improvements.
Analyze and report on cybersecurity intrusions in accordance with established guidelines.
Support insider threat, law enforcement, and counterintelligence investigations during cyber incidents.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

Active Secret Clearance (or higher).
Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
Ability to obtain SAP for NATO, CNWDI, and Restricted Data.
4 or more years of general full-time experience.
2 or more years of experience in information security, physical security, or cybersecurity.
Current DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification with Continuing Education (e.g., CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP).
Ability to obtain a DoD 8570.01-M CSSP Analyst and Incident Responder certification (e.g., CEH or CySA+) within six months of start date.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
Active Top Secret Clearance.
Perform security analysis and implement solutions across WAN/LAN environments, including routers, switches, network devices, and operating systems such as Windows and Linux.
Utilize Security Operations Center (SOC) and Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) tools and applications, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, Network Security Manager, forward proxies, and spam filters.
Analyze security compliance scan results across WAN environments using tools like ACAS or Nessus.
Assess and respond to network and host-based threats, with a preference for experience using tools such as ESS.
Apply knowledge of SOC operations and Department of Defense cybersecurity environments.
Follow and apply DCO/Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) security policies and procedures.
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
