Job Title: Systems Test EngineerJob Description
We are seeking a Systems Test Engineer to support a government project for equipment integration in Texas and the DC area. This role involves upgrading and testing communications systems. You will join a team responsible for implementing software and configuring systems, ensuring they function correctly. The configurations will vary per client.
Responsibilities
Deploy and test IP-based voice communications systems.
Support the development of test plans according to program requirements.
Create and execute test cases.
Generate test reports, problem/defect reports, and mitigation plans.
Work with the design team to maintain verification requirements traceability matrix (VRTM).
Conduct manual testing, including testing air traffic control communications (ground to air, radio, ground to ground telephony).
Build test plans for controller positions, touch screens, headsets, microphones, and radio systems.
Ensure each position can call each other and configure systems to communicate with towers and ground services.
Log test results and use JIRA for tracking.
Check System Description Document (SCD) to ensure address book corresponds to the position.
Essential Skills
B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or relevant engineering degree (preferred but not required).
Systems test experience with a good understanding of executing test programs.
Experience in configuring and analyzing VoIP networks, computing infrastructure, and software deployments.
Proficiency in relevant business tools including MS Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Linux (Oracle), and virtual machines.
Excellent technical writing, analytical, detail-oriented, and self-managed skills.
Comfortable working in a team and without formal direction.
Ability to travel for installs and acceptance testing throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, up to 50%.
US citizenship capable of receiving a US Government security clearance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in configuring and analyzing VoIP networks, computing infrastructure, and software deployments.
Knowledge of VoIP networking and telephony tools such as GL Communications.
Experience with test scripting tools, analysis and modeling software, and test and measurement equipment.
Experience in configuring and testing legacy telephony circuits and related audio connections.
Knowledge of Nessus security scanner and remediation of security vulnerabilities.
Work Environment
This position requires 100% onsite presence. You will work closely with a team of systems engineers and test/integration engineers to ensure the systems make calls correctly. Testing periods last 3 days and are repeated multiple times. After ensuring the system functions properly, it will be packaged and shipped.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $95.00/hr.
