Job Title: Tooling Engineer (Project Engineer)
Job Description
The Level IV Engineer (Project Engineer) will actively participate in the design, procurement, fabrication, assembly, integration, start-up, and commissioning of large-scale automated aerospace assembly systems. The Tooling Engineer (Project Engineer) will lead and collaborate with other engineers to concept, develop, and design both conventional and automated tooling systems and customized machine tools for the aerospace industry.
Responsibilities
Complete long-term engineering projects.
Perform engineering design evaluations and ensure projects are completed within budget and scheduling constraints.
Plan and accomplish goals based on extensive experience and judgment.
Lead by example and manage designers, stress analysis, offload design, and offload fabrication.
Collaborate with designers to define a detailed system and sequence of operations for bid proposals in response to customer specifications.
Define, organize, and prioritize project goals.
Provide leadership to meet design schedules.
Work with the marketing group on new design considerations.
Support new product introduction to manufacturing.
Occasional domestic or foreign travel to customer sites may be required.
Possess required experience, skills, and attributes listed in the Engineering Skills Matrix.
Work autonomously in concept, design, drawings, and technical publications.
Operate independently in CATIA and GURU software tools.
Demonstrate leadership and effective customer interface skills.
Essential Skills
At least 8+ years of experience in aerospace design and project management.
Proficiency in CATIA or NX software, ideally both.
Experience in managing and providing feedback to design teams.
Security clearance.
Customer relationship management.
Team-oriented approach.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Minimum eight years of experience in Heavy Machine Design, Structural Design, Aerospace Tooling Assembly Systems, and Automation.
Manufacturing and machine shop experience preferred.
Knowledge of CAD Software: CATIA V5, NX or equivalent software (Solidworks, Pro E, etc.).
Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software (Ansys or Femap preferred).
Work Environment
100% on-site/in-person . The work environment is an indoor office setting

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
