ASRC Federal Data Solutions, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to support our NOAA contract. This is a remote opportunity and can be based anywhere within the continental United States.
Role Overview: As a Software Engineer, you will collaborate with a dynamic team to design and implement software that contributes to meaningful change. Your skills and creativity will play a crucial role in driving our project forward.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain software applications that have a positive impact.
Collaborate with product managers and designers to define project requirements.
Write clean, maintainable code and conduct code reviews.
Troubleshoot and optimize existing applications for improved performance.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
Qualifications:
Required -
BS/BA degree in related field
8 + years of related software development experience ideally in Python, C/C++ or R.
Multi-Cloud (AWS, Azure or GCP) experience.
Familiar with web services, API, REST and RPC.
Experience developing user stories and define acceptance criteria.
Hands-on experience managing all stages of the product life cycle.
Technical background with knowledge of software development and web technologies.
Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident with ability to pass a Government background investigation.
Preferred -
Familiarity with NextGen framework and NWM 3.0
Familiarity with machine learning, specifically CNN and LSTM architectures
Experience with geospatial data analysis using Python or GIS applications
Highly experienced with Git/GitHub
Experience writing requirements in hydrologic software development
