About the Role
Culmen International is seeking Part-Time Analytic Linguists to support an upcoming Department of Justice contract.
What You'll Do in Your New Role
Linguists are tasked with the following responsibilities:
Conducting thorough analyses of both written and spoken communications, as well as translations.
Monitoring communications in foreign languages and offering verbal and written summaries in English for clarity and understanding.
Transcribing and translating spoken or written communications into English while carefully preserving the original register, style, and tone.
Providing oral interpretation, either consecutively or simultaneously, between foreign languages and English to facilitate effective communication.
Reviewing prior translations and transcriptions to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the final outcomes.
Summarizing both oral and written communications to succinctly convey essential information.
Required Qualifications
Must be proven fluent (ILR 3+ or equivalent) in both English and one of the following languages: Arabic, Bulgarian, Burmese, Chinese (Mandarin), Dutch, French, French Creole, German, Greek, Indonesian, Italian, Khmer, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Portuguese (European), Romanian, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Thai, and Ukrainian.
Experience supporting law enforcement programs.
Ability to provide proof of fluency proficiency.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
