Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Geotechnical Engineer to join our team! In this role you will be responsible for evaluating the composition and extent of each soil type and preparing recommendations to other disciplines regarding foundation types, site preparation, and suitability for industrial, support, and residential development as JCPDI is developing a new master plan to guide the development of one of the largest industrial cities. This plan considers new industries and new property in an evolving environment. The new property includes a mix of shallow marine environments, alluvial plain, and, coral limestone, and other less common soil types. .
What You'll Be Doing:
Collect, gather and analyze the geotechnical data, meet with local Authorities, Agencies, and prepare the geotechnical reports for JCPDI different projects.
Conduct soil investigation, researches, and study soil and evaluate its suitability for foundations.
Assess construction sites, conduct lab tests, create designs for structures.
Manage the risk of geotechnical hazards and make sure any factors affecting engineering works are identified and managed.
Advising on the geotechnical procedures required and the suitability of the construction materials.
Preparation of scopes of work for JCPDI different geotechnical studies.
Evaluation of geotechnical data.
Assisting with the design of built structures, using specialized software or calculations
Advising on and testing a range of construction materials including sand, gravel, bricks and clay.
Analyzing sites and designs for environmentally sensitive developments, such as a landfill.
Provide recommendations for site work, foundation types, and provide suitability.
Manage geotechnical studies.
Assessing the suitability of various soils for industrial development.
Other work typical of the geotechnical discipline.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
A Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the geotechnical field for infrastructure projects. (A GPA of 3/4 or 4/5 is required for candidates with less than 3 years of relevant work experience)
Design experience in the construction of complex projects is preferred.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Previous experience of working in the Middle East and knowledge of Saudi civil design engineering codes will be considered an advantage.
The candidate must have excellent oral and written English communication skills, must be self-directed, and must have demonstrated project analysis, management, and presentation skills.
Strong Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite and other computer applications of design and geotechnical analysis.
