JOB SUMMARY:
Support the implementation of the practical experience component of the practicum course in the graduate Healthcare Informatics program. Responsibilities include: securing practicum placement for students, informing faculty about agency requirements for student placement and following up with agencies.

SALARY INFORMATION:
In compliance with New York's Pay Transparency Act, the salary for this position is $38.44 per hour for 15 hours of work per wee k. Adelphi University considers factors such as departmental budgets, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. An annual base salary higher than the range may be warranted in circumstances where a candidate has demonstrable equivalent prior higher education experience at another University.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Assure that practicum placements are secured and confirmed.
Communicate, in writing, with placement sites, confirming placements (dates, units/sites) and informing agency of assigned faculty and students, for graduate placements.
Maintain accurate files and records of all placement activity.
Provide necessary agency information to Administrative Affairs office to initiate new affiliation agreements.
Secure practicum placements with appropriate agencies.
Determine if an education agreement is required between Adelphi University and the practicum site.
Coordinate with the legal team to ensure that all necessary agreements, including information privacy agreements (if required by the agency), are reviewed and executed.
8 . Collect and maintain files for required preceptor documents for HIN students.
9 . Serves as liaison with all agencies, preceptors, and graduate students.
10 . Provide documentation for credentialing of preceptors/ agencies to Program Directors
1 1 . Provide course materials and related informational support to preceptors/agencies
1 2 . Work with program administrative assistants to disseminate information.
1 3 . Assist with American DataBank for student health clearances.
Maintain and update all site lists and serve as a liaison between the Associate Dean and Program Director.
Ensure compliance with any additional paperwork required by agencies, including but not limited to confidentiality agreements and data security requirements.
1 6 . Perform other job duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of healthcare systems.
Good written and administrative skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Good marketing skills
Ability to be organized and pay attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, etc.
Ability to coordinate and facilitate legal paperwork through Adelphi's legal team, ensuring proper documentation is completed while adhering to university procedures
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree
Nursing or Healthcare I nformatics experience
HOURS:
Hours vary based on number of placements
The practicum coordinator is a 12-month position
