Black River Systems Company, a small, established research-oriented engineering firm headquartered in
Utica, NY, is looking for a Senior Staff Systems Engineer. We are looking for someone who will be technically responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments in the area or areas of sensor data fusion and exploitation. They will make decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have a major impact on extensive engineering activities. This position technically supports multiple Black River government programs and a qualified candidate can lead a technical team to deliver solutions for our customers in areas such as algorithm development, systems design, functional analysis, performance evaluation, and prototype development. A successful candidate will need to demonstrate creativity, foresight, mature engineering judgment. They will promote their
technical expertise outside of the company through briefings, participation in government working groups, published papers, and symposiums. In addition, this candidate will lead program teams and facilitate the communication and interaction amongst the functional representatives.
Position Requirements:
• Master’s degree in mathematics, physics, electrical engineering or related field is required, doctorate degree is desired.
• 20+ year’s professional experience in signal and image processing, control systems or digital
communications.
• Previous program management experience strongly desired. Solid communication, documentation, and collaborative/teamwork skills.
• Matlab or similar software-based simulation experience strongly desired.
• Ability to simulate and/or analyze sensor system performance.
• Experience developing signal/image processing, control systems, or digital communications systems, tracking, data fusion and exploitation concepts and algorithms desired.
• TS-SCI Department of Defense Security Clearance preferred.
• US citizenship - must have or be eligible for a Department of Defense security clearance.
