Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Principal Permitting and Compliance Specialist to join our team! In this role you will help drive success for our diverse backlog and portfolio of clients and exciting projects. This is a high growth opportunity, where you can test and expand your leadership skills to help us expand our services, deliver successful projects, and develop the next generation of talented professionals.
Job Summary:
- Coordinating with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies; preparing compliance documentation; and preparing permit applications.
- Oversees regulatory and permit compliance programs across a wide variety of environmental and infrastructure projects, and is responsible for several key functions related to compliance.
- Managing agency relationships to facilitate amending permits and resolving compliance issues.
- Establishing a system for flow of information among the project management team, project construction manager (PCM), and environmental teams overseeing construction.
- Developing a program that provides for consistent project construction/delivery and demonstration of compliance across all project sections, which also includes a compliance documentation program
- Identifying, managing, mentoring, and overseeing the work of teammates and stakeholders who will assist them with responsibilities.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field and 7-10 years of experience.
- Extensive experience with federal, state, and local laws and regulations as they relate to environmental, civil construction, and energy projects, with specific experience with Article VII & Article 24
- Experience with state and federal agencies, including NYSDOT, NYSDEC, USACE, NYSPSC, & USFAA
- Work independently, productively, and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment with multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, efficient, and organized.
- Excellent Project Management skills.
- Experience with design-build contracting and construction processes.
