Job Description:
MEP Inspector
Abu Dhabi, UAE
What You'll Be Doing:
Conducts inspections and tests to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications.
Get involved in monitoring, inspection, coordination, witnessing and documentation of all works of the project
Oversee and inspect all mechanical, electrical & instrumentation work and ensure that installation activities comply with contractual obligations and quality control standards
Attend to Inspection Requests (IR's) submitted by the contractor and take appropriate action in a timely manner
Maintains office files related to the project, quantity calculations and writes daily diaries.
Prepares daily reports and other documentation, as required by the contract
Verifies that only approved materials are incorporated in the work
Reports on installed quantities to verify applications for payment and change order work
Recognizes potential conflicts, issues and problems, and reports to supervisor with proposed solution
May provide technical guidance to junior inspectors
Participates in the development of job safety practices and in the preparation of safety reports
Participates in the development of quality control reports and procedures
Coordinate the works to ensure successful hand-over of the project
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a diploma in electrical engineering
Minimum of 6 years of electromechanical construction work experience related on infrastructure, road and general landscaping projects.
Experience in the construction supervision of infrastructure, landscaping and road , preferred in Abu Dhabi .
Familiar with parks electrical systems, landscape lighting, irrigation & portable water, reservoirs / chambers, mechanical fittings and CCTV security systems
Experience in dealing with emergency works and ability to deal with the public and coordinate with various relevant authorities.
Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction-related processes in relation to the area of assignment
Knowledge of English grammar and composition, the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing
Experience in water pumps and irrigation work
Must be able to recognize hazardous work conditions and take action if necessary.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Proficiency within Microsoft Office, Project Management Software and internet search engines.
Ability to comply with multitude of requirements as applicable to the project based on client and industry standards.
Ability to use good judgment and work with others is required.
