Job Description:
Ready to put your human resources and scientific expertise to work in detecting bio-threat agents domestically and across the globe? We are seeking a Program Administrator to act in a Deputy Program Manager (DPM) role in support of our staff conducting research for the rapid detection of infectious diseases of global importance and the enhancement of global disease surveillance for early pathogen detection and response. This position resides at Fort Detrick in Frederick, MD.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee BSL-2 laboratory operations and management
- Assist with procurement, supply/equipment inventory, and staff relations
- Hold management authority and be able to communicate, reward, and provide guidance to contract staff
- Possess mid-level scientific experience to help manage projects
- Help ensure projects meet cost, performance, and schedule timelines (
Education/Experience:
- Education: Master’s or PhD degree in relevant administrative field or biological sciences.
- Experience: 5 years practical experience in human resources and/or biological sciences is considered essential. The candidate should have experience in the execution of a complex laboratory programs to include laboratory operations, project management, assisting the principal investigator with the preparation of SOPs and other relevant lab/project documents, procurement paperwork, and interfacing with support offices such as the technology transfer office, safety, budget, travel, legal, security, and facilities in pursuit of Principal investigator approval.
- Must currently possess or be able to pass all criteria for Secret security clearance.
