Job Description

 
Engineer 4, Software Development & Engineering

Provide technical leadership in developing software using Python; perform extract-transform-load (ETL) processes on data using Pentaho; deploy, monitor, configure, and install systems using RedHat and CentOS Linux operating systems; build CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to automate the branching, tagging, release and deployment of projects; visualize data using Tableau, and prepare data using Tableau Prep; design and develop REST APIs; store and retrieve data using Oracle and SQL Server databases; automate tasks and manage configurations using Windows Power Shell Scripting; analyze geospatial data using QGIS; query data sets using Trino; work in an AWS environment; use HTTP protocols; support applications under development and customize current applications; assist with the software update process for existing applications, and roll-outs of software releases; analyze, test, and assist with the integration of new applications; document all development activity; research, write, and edit documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports; monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products; review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects; collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements; conduct analysis to determine integration needs; work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements; and guide and mentor junior-level engineers. Position is eligible to work remotely one or more days per week, per company policy.

***REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, any Engineering, or related technical field, and five (5) years of experience performing extract-transform-load (ETL) processes on data using Pentaho; visualizing data using Tableau, and preparing data using Tableau Prep; storing and retrieving data using Oracle and SQL Server databases; automating tasks and managing configurations using Windows Power Shell Scripting; analyzing geospatial data using QGIS; querying data sets using Trino; of which three (3) years include deploying, monitoring, configuring, and installing systems using RedHat and CentOS Linux operating systems; using HTTP protocols; of which one (1) year includes developing software using Python; and building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
