Job Summary
Battelle’s Cyber Solutions Department is seeking Mid-level Data Scientist to work at a customer site in the Columbus,OH.
“From Silicon to Systems” - We are an elite, multi-disciplinary team, bringing together the brightest minds from physics, computer science, electrical engineering, and mathematics to develop unique embedded security solutions for government and industrial customers.

Responsibilities
- Aid in the design and implementation of machine learning, data mining, data fusion, and data engineering techniques applied to cyber security problems
- Learn and become fluent in the details of security related domains in order to devise data driven solutions
- Improve existing techniques and devise new techniques to solve big data problems
- Independently propose and develop creative solutions to unique problems, potentially leading IR&D projects
- Identify and articulate strengths and weaknesses of solutions, conclusions and problem approaches during technical discussions.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 5 years of experience; or master’s degree in related field with 2 years of experience
- Demonstrated experience developing in Python
- Experience in machine learning, deep learning, statistics and/or data mining techniques
- Experience with NLP algorithms, including text processing and classification, information retrieval, etc
- Experience working with large structured and unstructured data
- Experience researching and developing production ready data science solutions
- Experience with relational databases, SQL
- Excitement about learning new technical subject areas and curiosity about cyber security and big data problems
- Active Top Secret clearance
- Willing to obtain and maintain full scope poly
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with shell scripting languages like bash, zsh, or csh
- Experience with large data orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Prefect, Apache NiFi
- Experience with containerization technology such as Docker
- Experience in developing, validating, and monitoring AI/ML models
- Experience developing data science/ML scalable solutions
- Experience building data science solutions with open-source tools
- Familiarity with graph algorithms
- Familiarity with cloud computing and associated service providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.
- Active TS/SCI with an IC Green Badge
