Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a highly skilled and experienced MEP Manager to lead the planning, design, coordination, and execution of MEP systems for a major rail/metro project in the UAE. This role is critical in ensuring that all MEP infrastructure is seamlessly integrated into the railway network, meets project specifications, and complies with safety, sustainability, and regulatory standards.
The MEP Manager will be responsible for overseeing the design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, and associated systems within the railway infrastructure and will work closely with design consultants, contractors, government authorities, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure successful project execution.
What You'll Be Doing:
Lead the design, planning, and implementation of MEP systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and local regulations.
Oversee the integration of MEP systems with railway infrastructure, including stations, tunnels, depots, and operational control centers.
Ensure MEP components align with railway safety, ventilation, electrical power distribution, and fire protection requirements.
Conduct technical reviews of MEP designs, specifications, and calculations for optimal performance, efficiency, and sustainability.
Collaborate with civil, structural, and track engineers for seamless coordination of MEP services within the railway corridor.
Liaise with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and utility providers to secure necessary approvals and permits.
Act as the primary point of contact for MEP-related discussions, ensuring alignment between design teams, contractors, and railway operators.
Manage procurement, installation, and commissioning of MEP systems, ensuring adherence to project schedules and quality standards.
Conduct site inspections, system testing, and compliance audits to validate proper installation and integration of MEP infrastructure.
Monitor and manage contractor performance, addressing technical challenges, delays, and quality control issues proactively.
Ensure all MEP systems meet local, national, and international safety standards, including NFPA, IEC, and BS codes.
Conduct risk assessments, failure mode analysis, and safety reviews to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Implement fire and life safety strategies, ensuring compliance with railway fire protection and emergency response requirements.
Oversee ventilation, cooling, and air quality systems for optimal environmental conditions within railway stations and tunnels.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to MEP engineers, contractors, and design teams.
Prepare and present technical reports, progress updates, and risk assessments to senior management and project stakeholders.
Lead value engineering efforts, optimizing cost-effective and energy-efficient MEP solutions for the railway project.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
A Master’s degree in MEP Engineering, Railway Systems, or Construction Management is preferred.
15+ years of experience in MEP design, construction, and integration within railway, metro, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
Proven expertise in HVAC, electrical power distribution, fire protection, plumbing, and building management systems (BMS).
Strong knowledge of MEP codes and standards, including NFPA, ASHRAE, BS, IEC, and local UAE regulations.
Experience with tunnel ventilation, station power systems, fire suppression, and emergency evacuation systems.
Proficiency in MEP design software (AutoCAD MEP, Revit, BIM, ETAP, HAP, and CFD modeling tools).
Familiarity with MEP interfaces in railway environments, including depots, substations, and operational control centers.

Ability to interface with all levels of the project team, clients, and other stakeholders.

Exceptional stakeholder engagement abilities, capable of presenting technical solutions to senior management and negotiating with authorities and utility providers.
Adaptability and resilience with a proactive approach to troubleshooting, performance enhancement, and continuous improvement.
Detail-oriented approach, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, industry standards, and operational best practices.
Proactive mindset, capable of identifying potential utility conflicts and providing cost-effective mitigation solutions.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and cost control.
