Position Summary:
Seeking a talented and innovative Software Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that support USSTRATCOM strategic weapon system planning programs and emerging commercial systems. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create high-quality software that enhances system performance, survivability, and cybersecurity.
Key Responsibilities:
Full Life Cycle Software Development: All aspects of the software development life-cycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding, and automated testing within an Agile and CI/CD model
Technical Leadership: Serve as a technical lead on complex mission planning projects
Technical Design: Develop the best technical design and approach for new product development
Communication: Communicate progress project managers, including identifying risks, opportunities, and dependencies
Team Leadership: Ensure team adheres to Agile processes and software engineering best practices
Utilize Modern Tools: Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug mission critical software source code using modern software development languages and tools
Use Agile Development Tools: Use Agile development tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket/Git to manage work and collaborate with PMO
Documentation Support: Support creation and updating of all relevant documentation and specifications for design, development and testing

Qualifications:
Required:
Clearance: Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of experience or in lieu of degree, equivalent years of relevant experience
Web Technology Proficiency: Strong proficiency with Java, C++, Rust, and/or web technologies including HTML, CSS, XML, SOAP, WSDL, REST, JSON, and JavaScript
Containerization Tech: Experience with containerization technology (Docker, Podman)
-Web Application Technology Proficiency: Proficiency with Apache Tomcat, JBoss, etc.
Delivery Experience: Experience delivering an entire piece of a system or application
Technical Lead Experience: Experience serving as a technical lead - Deep understanding of software design patterns
Agile Development Knowledge: Knowledge of Agile Development methodologies
Experience with the following:
A version control system (e.g., Git)
An issue/problem tracking system (e.g., Jira)
Operating Systems Proficiency: Proficiency with multiple operating systems (Mac OSX, Windows, LINUX, etc.)
Relational Database Management System Expertise : Proficiency with at least one Relational Database Management System (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.)
Microsoft Office Proficiency: Proficiency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio, & PowerPoint) team player who can express and explain their ideas to others
Desired:
Applied Experience: Hands-on experience with AI/ML technologies
Thorough Experience: Extensive experience with process/workflow automation
Familiarity: Strong familiarity with Python
Understanding: Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
Process Experience: with USSTRATCOM Nuclear Planning process
