Woolpert is hiring a GeoBase Imagery and LiDAR Analyst (Geospatial Specialist II) to join our dynamic Department of the Air Force (DAF) GeoBase Operations team. This is a remote role with occasional travel required to the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) on Lackland Air Force Base and other DAF installations in the continental US. This position reports to the GeoBase Imagery Team Technical Coordinator and is responsible for processing, analyzing, and creating products from raster data to support the DAF geospatial enterprise and Civil Engineering mission.
Responsibilities
As a GeoBase Imagery and LiDAR Analyst (Geospatial Specialist II) at Woolpert, you will:
Process imagery and LiDAR data into final deliverables that meet DAF geospatial enterprise requirements
Perform data quality assurance and control (QA/QC) on raw data and other deliverables, ensuring compliance with Air Force and Department of Defense (DoD) geospatial data standards
Create and maintain DAF geospatial standard metadata for all raster products
Perform analysis (classify, filter, change detect, etc.) on GeoBase raster data, presenting analysis results to program leadership and mission partners
Create and update a variety of imagery and LiDAR analysis-derived products such as Digital Elevation Models (DEM), Digital Surface Models (DSM), hydrologic models, feature extractions, 3-D visualizations, etc.
Provide end user support and training for imagery and LiDAR processes, requirements, technical issues, and troubleshooting to DAF installations, major commands (MAJCOM), and mission partner organizations
Utilize the GeoBase Agile framework to enable task visibility and project transparency to AFCEC client:
Use Agile platform (Jira, Confluence) to record all processes and tasks, and manage all projects
Create or update detailed DAF GeoBase Knowledge Base articles for raster data subject matter areas
Coordinate and execute imagery and LiDAR data acquisitions for crisis (disaster, emergency, contingency) response, processing data for analysis, mapping, and partner agency support
Analyze current processes and recommend improvements or other best practice solutions
Maintain data for archival storage, record keeping, and inventory of source data and maps
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
U.S. citizenship
Active Tier 1 Investigation (National Agency Check and Inquiries NACI), or security clearance, or the ability to pass a Tier 1 Investigation.
Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening
Extensive knowledge of Esri ArcGIS Pro software and capabilities:
Two (2) years of experience using ArcGIS Pro processing imagery and LiDAR data
Experience with Quick Terrain Modeler (QTM) and LP360 LiDAR software and processes
Two (2) years of experience in a role requiring:
Excellent communication and consulting skills with emphasis on client and team member engagement
Proven experience providing excellent customer service
Strong technical proficiency using Microsoft Office products
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for a dynamic working environment
Attention to detail - proven experience meeting data quality assurance and accuracy standards
Strong organizational, time management and analytical skills
Ability to work independently, collaboratively as part of a team, and as a member of a large organization
Ability to offer constructive feedback and problem solving, as well as clear direction to support goals
