Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team and help us develop software tools that will drive Woolpert's advanced Lidar systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded systems, firmware development, Lidar, point cloud processing, and data acquisition systems. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and optimization of remote sensing systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
Software Development and Optimization: Design, develop, and maintain software for lidar systems, focusing on embedded systems and firmware.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications.
Implement and optimize data acquisition algorithms to ensure accurate and efficient data collection.
Develop and maintain software tools for testing, calibration, and validation of lidar systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, ensuring system stability and performance.
Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers.
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in lidar technology and software development practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years required 10 + years preferred of software development experience, focusing on embedded systems and firmware.
Strong proficiency in C/C++.
Experience with other programming languages such as Python and MATLAB preferred.
Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded Linux.
Proven track record of developing and optimizing data acquisition systems.
Familiarity with lidar technology and sensor integration.
Knowledge of signal processing and machine learning techniques.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
