Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an experienced Senior Platform Screen Door (PSD) Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of Platform Screen Door systems for a major metro project in United Arab Emirates. You will provide technical expertise and project oversight across feasibility, design, tendering, contract administration, and project close-out stages. This role requires significant experience in rail and metro projects, particularly in the design, installation, and commissioning of PSD systems.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead and oversee the design, integration, and implementation of Platform Screen Door systems across all project phases.

• Provide technical expertise during feasibility studies and concept design to ensure PSD solutions align with project requirements.

• Develop and review technical specifications, design documents, and system requirements for PSD installations.

• Support tender preparation and evaluation, ensuring supplier compliance with performance and safety standards.

• Conduct design reviews and interface management with other railway systems, including signaling, rolling stock, and civil works.

• Assist in contract administration, reviewing contractor submissions, managing changes, and ensuring adherence to project timelines.

• Oversee testing, commissioning, and integration of PSD systems to ensure seamless operation with metro infrastructure.

• Provide expert input during defects liability and project close-out, ensuring all PSD-related issues are resolved.

• Ensure compliance with local, international safety standards, and industry best practices.

• Coordinate with stakeholders, consultants, and contractors to ensure PSD system requirements are met.

• Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with PSD implementation.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).

• 10+ years of experience in Platform Screen Door design, installation, and commissioning for metro or railway projects.

• In-depth knowledge of PSD system components, integration challenges, and operational requirements.

• Experience working on large-scale metro projects, preferably in the UAE or GCC region.

• Strong understanding of railway safety standards, including EN 50126, EN 50128, and EN 50129.

• Excellent skills in technical documentation, design review, and supplier management.

• Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, mechanical, electrical, and signaling engineers.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to risk management.

• Effective communication and leadership skills to engage with stakeholders and project teams.
