A Remote SolidWorks Model-Based Enterprise and GD&T Senior Engineer job is currently available at Belcan. This is a full-time direct position with benefits. To be considered, you will need 3+ years of Model-Based Definition (MBD) application experience in Dassault"s SolidWorks CAD platform and Senior-Level certification in ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). As a SolidWorks MBE and GD&T Senior Engineer, you will execute tactical tasks as part of customer-aligned digital engineering delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Work will be performed remotely. Some travel to customer sites or internal meetings may be required (up to 25%).
Execute tactical tasks as part of customer-aligned digital engineering delivery teams.
Develop and deliver internal and customer-facing presentations and documentation using MS Office and other methods for clear communication
Model Based Definition (MBD)
oDocument current-state MBD authoring, validation, and consumption standards, tools, and training
oDevelop, test, and document MBD authoring best practices to align with industry standards and maximize downstream digital interoperability
oEngage in the evaluation of MBD authoring and validation software
oParticipate in MBD pilots that explore definition approaches, manufacturing and inspection data re-use, machine and software interoperability
oDevelop guided training for MBD authoring, validation, and consumption
oStay updated in the broader MBE ecosystem including industry working groups and standards development organizations

oAssess customer"s existing design and quality practices to identify gaps where GD&T can drive improvement
oCreate customized strategies for incorporating GD&T into customer workflows, including design, inspection, and production processes
oCreate and deliver training sessions for engineers, designers, and quality teams to build GD&T knowledge and proficiency
oWork with stakeholders to overcome resistance to change and ensure successful integration of GD&T into organizational practices
oOffer technical support and guidance during the implementation process, addressing challenges and refining practices as needed
oMeasure and communicate the tangible benefits of GD&T adoption
oKeep abreast of advancements in GD&T standards
Required Qualifications:
US Citizenship
Bachelors Degree in a mechanical design or engineering discipline.
3+ years of Model-Based Definition (MBD) application experience in Dassault"s SolidWorks CAD platform.
ASME Y14.5 GD&T Senior Level Certification
Experience/knowledge of industry standards developed for, or supportive of MBD (ASME Y14.5, ASME Y14.41, AMSE Y14.47, QIF, MIL-STD-31000)
Experience/knowledge of MBD software landscape (CADIQ, Capvidia, Anark, Elysium)
Experience/knowledge of MBD interoperable formats (3DPDF, HTLM5, STEP, QIF, JT)

Strong communication skills and relating new concepts to others
