Nightwing is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Technical Trainer to develop and deliver high-quality training programs in penetration testing, red/blue team operations, and SOC analysis. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with proven instructional abilities to prepare the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. Primary Responsibilities Training Development and Delivery Design and develop comprehensive cybersecurity training curricula, including hands-on labs with vulnerable systems for practical exploitation exercises Deliver technical training through both face-to-face classroom sessions and remote learning platforms Create and maintain interactive training environments using virtualization technologies Develop and update training materials to reflect current cybersecurity threats and defensive techniques Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback during practical exercises Technical Leadership Maintain expertise in current penetration testing tools, techniques, and methodologies Design and implement secure training environments for hands-on exercises Evaluate and incorporate new tools and technologies into training programs Mentor junior instructors and provide technical guidance Contribute to the development of certification preparation courses (CISSP, Security+, etc.) Program Management Collaborate with other trainers to ensure consistent delivery of training materials Maintain and update training documentation and lab environments Participate in curriculum review and updates to ensure alignment with industry standards Support the development of custom training solutions for specific client needs Provide input on training program strategy and direction Required Qualifications Experience Minimum 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years in hands-on technical roles Demonstrated experience in delivering technical training, both in-person and virtual Proven expertise in penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, and network security Strong background in network analysis, intrusion detection, and system hardening Experience with multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux) and virtualization platforms Technical Skills Advanced knowledge of penetration testing tools and methodologies Expertise in network security architecture, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM systems Proficiency in system hardening and security compliance (NIST, RMF, STIGs) Strong understanding of Active Directory and Windows/Linux administration Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere preferred) Required Certifications (must have at least two) GIAC Certified Penetration Tester (GPEN) Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA) Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) CompTIA Security+ Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field Master's degree preferred in related technical field Additional technical certifications may be considered in lieu of advanced degree Additional Skills Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Strong presentation and public speaking skills Ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences Experience developing hands-on technical labs and exercises Demonstrated mentoring and leadership capabilities Preferred Qualifications Military or government cybersecurity experience Experience with certification and accreditation processes Background in embedded systems security Experience with cyber range environments Additional technical certifications in relevant areas Physical Requirements Ability to travel up to 25% for training delivery Capability to stand and present for extended periods Ability to manipulate and move training equipment as needed The ideal candidate will demonstrate not only technical expertise but also the ability to effectively communicate complex security concepts to students of varying skill levels.
