Job Description:
The Global Trade Compliance Director will support the development, implementation, and enforcement of policies to ensure compliance with U.S. trade regulations as outlined by the Department of Commerce [Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS)/Export Administration Regulations (EAR)], Department of State [Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC)/International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)], Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Department of the Treasury [Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)], and any other exporting regulatory agency as required. Furthermore, this position will also support the investigation and disclosure process related to potential violations under USG trade regulations. This position reports to the Director, Trade Compliance, L3Harris Technologies.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with managing the corporate trade compliance program to include process improvement, development of workflows and work instructions, and creation of training as needed to support such process improvements.
- Develop and implement business processes, procedures and tools to ensure compliance with U.S. Government trade regulations and corporate policies
- Assist with investigations and other compliance matters
- Draft and submit voluntary self-disclosures to U.S. Government regulators
- Recommend, implement, and test corrective actions resulting from compliance concerns
- Interface with internal and external customers in trade compliance matters
- Analyze reports and metrics pertaining to various elements of the export/import process, and report on trends, areas of concern and improvement opportunities
- Provide support to assist with fulfilling the requirements of the Consent Agreement
- Provides advice and guidance to senior leaders on the complex application and implementation of U.S. Government trade regulations
- 20% travel domestically
- Ability to obtain US Secret Security Clearance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior experience in trade compliance or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
- Experience with conducting trade compliance investigation and reviewing voluntary disclosures
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience managing a team, including full-time employees and contractors
- Proficiency in OCR EASE export administration and licensing software
- Experience working under a Consent Agreement
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interface with personnel at all levels, both verbally and in writing
- Exhibits a high attention to detail, integrity and discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SharePoint
- Demonstrated consistent application of company and industry business practices and concepts
- Ability to apply U.S. Government regulatory requirements in complex scenarios
- Specialized knowledge of multiple areas within U.S. Government regulations and business practices
- Attention to detail and follow through on tasks assigned
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to travel as necessary to support the functions of the job
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado State, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont and New York State is $123,000-$229,000. For California, Seattle, Washington D.C., Maryland Greater Washington D.C. area, the city of Denver, Washington State and New York City, the salary range for this role is $141,500-$262,500 This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
