CACI is seeking an Entry-Level Cybersecurity Engineer to support our security program's implementation of NIST 800-53Rev5 controls. This role will focus on maintaining, monitoring, and improving security controls across our organization while developing expertise in federal security requirements and frameworks.
Responsibilities include the granting of authorization to operate IT systems at acceptable levels of risk, monitoring and testing of IT systems for vulnerabilities and indication of compromise, incident response and remediation, the development of appropriate policy, relevant user security awareness and training, and compliance with applicable government and other external standards.
What You'll Get to Do:
Monitor security tools, system logs, and alerts for potential security incidents
Support the implementation and documentation of NIST 800-53 Rev5 security controls
Assist in conducti ng security assessments and continuous monitoring activities
Help maintain security configurations and implement security patches
Participate in incident response activities and security investigations
Support access control management and review processes
Assist with vulnerability scanning and remediation eff orts
Help prepare and maintain security documentation including policies and procedures
Support audit preparation and compliance activities
Collaborate with IT teams on security best practices implementation
Assist in security awareness training initiatives
Participate in change control and security impact analysis processes
You'll Bring These Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related fi eld
Understanding of NIST 800-53 Rev5 security controls
Basic knowledge of federal security requirements
Familiarity with security control implementation and assessment
Strong analytical and documentation skills
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Security+ certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
Understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF)
Familiarity with NIST CSF and 800-series publications
Experience with security control assessment tools
Basic scripting abilities (Python, PowerShell)
Knowledge of:
o NIST 800-53 Rev5 control families
o Security control implementation guides
o Security assessment and authorization processes
o Continuous monitoring tools and techniques
o Security documentation and reporting
o Basic security tools (SIEM, vulnerability scanners)
Required Soft Skills:

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$55,500 - $111,100
